St. Croix Watershed The St. Croix Basin (or watershed) is the area of land that drains into the St. Croix River. The basin is over 7,700 square miles of land in Wisconsin and Minnesota. There are over 1,500 springs and brooks in the basin and 16 major tributary rivers. The Namekagon is the largest tributary of the St. Croix. Each of the rivers in the basin has its own watershed, and each of the smaller brooks has its own watershed. You might live in the St. Croix Basin, but you might also live in the Yellow River Watershed! What is YOUR watershed address?
